This contribution presents an overview on the planned TIM Severe Storms Field Campaign, the first thunderstorm campaign of its size given the focus on complex topography effects.
Observed and simulated trapped lee waves over Hengduan Mountains
The trapped lee waves (TLWs) were observed with massive satellite images and simulated extensively. Both TLW amplitude and wavelength were found to be amplified in the afternoon.
