The Austrian community of ACTRIS (Aerosol, Clouds, and Trace Gases Research Infrastructure) invites researchers and environmental experts to its annual meeting, hosted as a workshop within the International Mountain Conference (IMC) 2025. This session will focus on recent advances in the observation and understanding of atmospheric processes in Austria. The workshop aims to foster dialogue and collaboration among scientists working on innovative measurement techniques, long-term monitoring, and case studies in Austria and mountain terrain. Key topics include the development of robust methodologies, insights from ongoing research, and the translation of scientific results into actionable knowledge for environmental and climate policy with regard to the new European airquality directive. The session will comprise equal parts scientific presentations and open discussions, encouraging active participation from all attendees. We will explore the contributions of ACTRIS Austria to international efforts and seek input to strengthen the role of our community within ACTRIS and beyond. This workshop provides an excellent opportunity for researchers to showcase their work, exchange ideas, and contribute to advancing the understanding of atmospheric processes in mountain regions and beyond. We particularly welcome guests interested in the interface between scientific research and environmental challenges to join and contribute to this discussion.
