The Mountain Research Initiative (MRI) and the World Climate Research Programme’s Climate and Cryosphere (WCRP CliC) project will hold a joint workshop on high-resolution climate modelling in areas of complex mountain topography, where seasonal snow and ice commonly cover the land surface. This workshop is the first activity of the WCRP CliC project on Impacts of Changes in the Mountain Cryosphere (IC-MONTC), which addresses scientific uncertainties associated with the loss of the mountain cryosphere as anthropogenic climate change continues. We invite researchers engaged in the application and development of high-resolution (kilometer-scale) climate models over complex mountainous terrain to participate. The goals of this workshop are to assess the current status of climate modeling applied to such areas of complex terrain; identify the necessary next steps in model development and improvement; and, identify observational gaps where further data are needed for model validation.
Once the review of the abstract is completed by the convener, this icon appears.
If at least one review has been provided by the co-conveners, this icon appears.
If at least one comment has been provided by the (co-)conveners, this icon appears.
Some conveners asked about details like length of presentations within a session etc. Please checkout details here.
IMPORTANT: The review result (of the convener) is a general suggestion to the organizing committee, which finally decides on the review. In most cases, we will follow your decisions and in case changes are needed due to organizational issues (e.g. not enough contributions for an individual poster session), we would contact you. The authors of the abstracts will not be informed immediately after you completed the review but after the end of the review phase.
