International Year of Glacier Preservation @ #IMC25

The International Year of Glaciers’ Preservation 2025 (IYGP) and the World Day for Glaciers, initiatives proposed by Tajikistan, were recently embraced through a UN General Assembly resolution. This resolution invites UNESCO, the WMO, and organizations like the WGMS, alongside UN Member States, to support these important efforts. We’re delighted to share that #IMC25 will play an active role in this exciting series of events! Our platform will bring together experts and glacier enthusiasts in various formats to exchange ideas and deepen our collective knowledge. Activities will span beyond #IMC25 itself, continuing throughout the year, and this page will be the source for updates on our contributions to IYGP.
