This exploration sharpens the view on the life of women in the Alps, in the Himalayas and the Karakorum by crossing the three axes of place, time, and culture: Throughout these cultural areas we encounter parallels which are particularly striking in the visual juxtaposition of the photos. And you might even get “lost” with the quotes – are they from Alpine or Himalayan women?

Far from pointing at any backwardness, we discover the relatedness of life realities of these mountain women.
