General events @ #IMC refer to official activities directly connected to the conference, such as kick-off sessions, conference dinners, and similar gatherings. These events are directly bookable during the conference registration process (but also to a later time).

Special events @ #IMC are thematically linked to the conference focus and are open to both participants and, in most cases, external attendees. Registration for these events is handled separately from the main conference registration.
