Journal of Mountain Science (JMS) is one of the several SCI-indexed English journals focusing specifically on publishing mountain research results in the world. JMS, founded in 2004, is sponsored by the Institute of Mountain Hazards and Environment, Chinese Academy of Sciences, published by Springer and Science Press of China. The Editorial Board are composed of scientists from 33 countries (regions) or international organizations in the world,. Authors are from over 95 countries and reviewers are from above 123 countries. JMS solicits contributions from and is distributed throughout the world. JMS is devoted to mountains and their surrounding lowlands-ecoregions of particular global importance, with a particular emphasis on the important highlands/ mountains in the world. The topics covered include: mountain development planning, mountain climate change, mountain environment evolution, mountain ecosystem degradation and restoration, dynamic processes of mountain hazards, key environmental problems and disaster risks in major mountain engineering construction, mountain watershed management and development, protection and development of mountain characteristic resources, cultural diversity and ethnic economic development in mountain areas, ethnic minorities in mountain areas. The editor will introduce the journal scope, the editorial policy, and the key points for attention in manuscript preparation and submission, and answer questions from the audience.
