The Journal of Alpine Research | Revue de géographie alpine is an international, interdisciplinary journal dedicated to the study of mountain regions worldwide. Founded in 1913 by the French geographer Raoul Blanchard, the journal has continuously published high quality research on the environmental, social and territorial dynamics of mountain regions. Since 2004, the journal has adopted a bilingual format, publishing all articles in English and in one of the Alpine languages (French, German, Italian, Slovenian) or Spanish, thus encouraging dialogue between international and regional perspectives. The journal welcomes contributions from various social science disciplines, including geography, sociology, history, anthropology and geopolitics. Its scope ranges from human and social science topics such as community resilience, cultural heritage and tourism dynamics to physical geography and the evolution of high mountain landscapes. This broad thematic range encourages interdisciplinary approaches and promotes a deeper understanding of the complex interactions between natural environments and human societies. The journal published original research articles as well as other formats such as notes on a particular place, reading reviews and transition papers. The journal uses a rigorous double-blind peer-review process to ensure scientific quality, novelty and relevance. The editorial team encourages research that takes a comparative, cross-regional perspective, highlighting the interconnections between different mountain regions around the world. This presentation will introduce the editorial focus of the journal, recent thematic issues and the submission process. It will also provide guidance for potential authors, and offer an opportunity for questions and discussion about the journal aims and best practices for successful manuscript submission.
