Inner-alpine Lake Achensee in the Eastern Alps, Austria. Lake Achensee is the largest lake in Tyrol with a length of ~9 km and has a maximum water depth of 133 m. The lake is embedded in the U-shaped and overdeepened Achen Valley. Major debris fans reach into Lake Achensee on the Western and Eastern shore and directly influence the sedimentation of the lake.
