Our field site “La Laguna” is located at 3400 m asl. in the semi-arid Chilean Andes. We selected this site for manual snow depth and density measurements and UAV flights. It is the perfect site for a high-altitude natural laboratory: There are nearby weather stations, the access is relatively easy and there is a place to stay at the lake with an adorable dog called “Copito” (snowflake in Spanish) that loves doing field work!
