Kedarnath highland pilgrimage is one of the most important destinations for Hindu pilgrims. It has a rich cultural landscape. However, it is situated in a very fragile landscape that is susceptible to many natural hazards. In 2013, a huge natural disaster (cloudburst triggered debris flow and flash flood) washed away the entire Kedarnath highland pilgrimage and caused more than ten thousand deaths. Kedarnath is now restructuring.
