Keynote Details

  • Full Title

Enhanced environmental changes in mountain regions: From elevation-dependent warming (EDW) to elevation-dependent climate change (EDCC)
  • Date of Presentation

    TBA

Over the last decade it has become clear that many mountain regions across the globe have experienced enhanced warming during the 21st century in comparison with adjacent lowland areas, but that there are also variations according to region. This keynote talk examines the science behind enhanced mountain temperature changes, and extends the discussion to consider other aspects of mountain climate, including changes in solid and liquid precipitation, wind patterns, and the impact of such changes on the cryosphere, hydrosphere and ecological systems.
