Description

We are excited to launch a short documentary (10 minutes), screened as part of the EU-funded Green Trail Concept (GTC) project and the Kilian Jornet Foundation.

The Green Trail Concept is a European initiative that aims to make trail running events more sustainable. Together with race organizers, land managers, athletes, and local communities, the project has developed a certification tool that helps events reduce their environmental footprint while also strengthening their social and economic benefits.

The film explores the intersection of mountain sports and the environment, asking: Can trail running become sustainable and a force for good in mountain conservation?

The screening will be followed by a round table discussion with:

  • Kilian Jornet Foundation
  • Laufwerkstatt Running Club – Trail Running Event Organizer
  • Protected Area Manager (Nature Park Kaunergrat) – TBC
  • Martin Schnitzer – Researcher on the economic impact of trail running events
  • Anna Plattner – Local athlete
