The Soana Valley (Gran Paradiso National Park, Piedmont, North-Western Italian Alps) has been the area of investigation for a three-years project carried out by the University of Torino on the assessment of the tourism sector in inner mountain areas. The Davito Bivouac (2,2282 m) is one of the two shelters for climbing and hiking activities in the area, on the feet of the Lavina Tower (3,308 m), the most iconic mountain of the valley.
