The research station Praxmar is situated in the Sellrain valley (Tyrol, Austria) at an elevation of 1,667 m a.s.l in a forest of spruce and stone pine. It has been used by scientists of the University of Innsbruck for botanical and plant ecophysiological research for about 20 years. On a currently installed snow manipulation plot effects of snow cover change on freezing induced xylem dysfunctions in subalpine trees and shrubs are investigated.
