Description
Biology is probably the most versatile research field of all natural sciences. From small scale biochemical interactions to whole biomes, from single celled microorganisms to large ecosystems, biologists are faced with an immense diversity. While this diversity calls for the specialization to specific topics and working methods, it is equally important to connect the different fields within the world of biology. Similar to the interlocking processes within an ecosystem, we gain the best progress when working together and sharing our experiences and knowledge. While we might become experts in our particular field, we should never stop learning about different aspects of biology and integrating new ideas. This session is especially designed for all biologists who want to broaden their horizon and discuss the biological diversity in more than its original sense. The aim of this special format of workshop is to learn different aspects, methods, approaches, and solution strategies from each other. Participants will not only gain insight into new aspects of biology, but will also help each other to discover new, previously unconsidered tools to be applied for their research.
